Meeting Agenda:
Wednesday, September 25
6:30 PM to 7:30 PM.
Greetings, members of the Newton Corner Neighborhood Association!
Two meetings, each concerned with separate projects directed toward improving the safety of the Newton Corner Rotary, will be held in the coming weeks. The first, targeting the immediate safety improvements to be made at Interchange 127 (Newton Corner), will be held this Wednesday, September 25, from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM.

Background for Making Immediate Safety Improvements:
This work is part of the Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Newton Corner Rotary Short & Mid-Range Improvements Project. These changes will improve safety to the I-90 East Bound (EB) off-ramp and Washington Street/Centre Street intersection area by:
1. Preventing dangerous weaves
2. Eliminating the backup down the ramp onto I-90 east bound.
A live, virtual public information meeting will be hosted on the MassDOT website to provide the public with details about:
1. Work schedule
2. Anticipated impacts
3. How to most efficiently utilize the new configuration of the intersection
Please note — everything that has been presented so far about this effort by the DOT has been framed as “increasing safety by enabling a smoother traffic flow.” It would be good if we could reinsert neighborhood priorities into this discussion. If, after hearing the presentation, you feel you’ve had safety-related experiences at this intersection that would not be addressed by these changes, please feel free to communicate this to the DOT representatives at the meeting.
The second DOT meeting will be held on Tuesday, October 8, from 6:30 PM - 7:30 PM. Please use the following link to register for the Long Term Planning Study Public Meeting #1:

As part of their planning effort, the DOT is asking current residents to help think through what Newton Corner should look like in 2050. They want to know what challenges we face as a village today. What do we want to see changed? Preserved? How could structural changes in the neighborhood improve our lives? This is a good opportunity to identify our problems and advocate for ourselves as a community. It goes without saying that we will have to do this more than once, so let’s begin now!
See you there
Warm regards,
Robin Boger, President
Newton Corner Neighborhood Association
