Greetings to all members of the Newton Corner Neighborhood Association!

We are again fortunate that four of our City Councilors will be with us to discuss issues of importance to the city and, in particular, to Newton Corner.  These include:

  • Alison Leary and John Oliver—Councilors at Large from Ward 1;

  • Maria Scibelli Greenberg, Ward Councilor from Ward 1; and

  • Marc C. Laredo, Councilor at Large from Ward 7.

This meeting will focus on the following:

1. The traffic rotary and the 3 sets of improvements proposed by the Department of Transportation

Dr. Srdjan S. Nedeljkovic, an expert on Newton’s relationship with the DOT, will discuss the initial meeting of the Newton Corner Long Term Planing Study and present his comments and concerns.

Nate Gibson will reflect on the recent DOT presentation regarding their proposals for achieving  Medium Term transportation goals and consider how these goals fit within potential long term plans for the rotary.

The Short Term rotary goals are still being discussed by the Traffic Department and the DOT. We hope to  present some insight into this set of proposals as well.

2. Keith Jones, president of the Friends of Farlow Park will give us an update on the restoration of the Farlow Park pond.

3. The proposed development at 41 Washington Street.

In the time remaining, the Councilors will discuss how the City of Newton FY 2025 Budget reflects the city’s priorities.

Looking forward to seeing you soon.

Warm regards,

Robin Boger, President

Newton Corner Neighborhood Association
